In just a few days I am racing the Crooked Gravel in Winter Park, Colorado. It is my first gravel race. I am riding the “short” 65 mile course. Am I nervous? Yes. Do I wonder if I can do it? Yes. Do I worry if my bike is properly prepped with the right tires, right fit, right kit? Yes. Do I believe in my training to this point? Yes. Do I know I am ready despite my fears? Yes.
I knew when I registered this was a big goal requiring new skills, training, and nutrition. Have I focused on all of those aspects? Yes. Am I looking forward to race day? Yes. How will I do? Dunno! It doesn’t matter. Having the courage to show up is already a win in my book!
